Match Report Under 16's

5 Jun 2023 by David Balwin

We recorded or first win for the season in a decisive 67 to 0 victory over Easts running in 11 tries. From a coaches perspective the biggest result was holding the opposition scoreless. We went in with a game plan of being up in the opposition face as quickly as possible and closing down any opportunity for them to attack. Once again we played as a team for the whole 60 minutes and there is a real team comrade developing. The hardest task for me was choosing how to allocate my points for the best and fairest award. There were 21 players worthy and the way players have already developed this year has been nothing short of spectacular. Eight players scored tries this week which again shows the team spirit and willingness to play as a team. Our scrum dominated the whole game and we only lost one line out which gave the backs the opportunity to show their skills to the extent that it was like we were playing in dry weather. Oskar’s long flat past to put Max away for a try was a perfect example of how to play rugby.

I can see the extent that the players are enjoying their rugby and having fun and that is why we play! We certainly enjoyed having our first home game for the year and we intent to make the Creek our fortress. Thanks to all our supporters who turned up in pretty miserable conditions to support us we love you.
